Own Your IT Factory, doing business as Own Your IT (“we,” “us”), runs this website. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.

1. What we collect

• Order and account details: name, email, shipping and billing address, phone number if you give one, and your order history. Payment details are entered with Stripe or PayPal; we don’t see or store your full card number.
• Quiz data: your answers, your result, and the email address your result is tied to. The quiz asks reflective questions about work and life, so please share only what you’re comfortable sharing.
• Lists and requests: your email and name when you join our email list, request a book excerpt or join the coaching interest list, and the messages you send us.
• Automatic data: IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed and how you reached us, collected through cookies and similar tools.
• Social and marketing data: if you interact with our social accounts or ads, those platforms may share limited information with us.

2. How we use it

To process and ship orders and handle claims; to run the quiz and send your result; to send the excerpts and updates you asked for; to send marketing email you’ve agreed to; to answer questions; to keep the site secure and working; to understand what content is useful; and to meet legal and tax obligations. We don’t use your quiz answers to make decisions about you outside this site.

3. Who we share it with

We share information only with the services that help us run the site, each only for that purpose:

• Payments: Stripe and PayPal.
• Fulfillment: our print partner and shipping carriers, who receive your name, address and order.
• Email: our email platform, which stores your name and email and sends our messages.
• Website care and hosting: WP Buffs, our hosting provider and Studio1, who may access the site’s data when maintaining it.
• Legal and safety: authorities or advisors when the law requires, or to protect our rights.

We don’t sell your personal information for money.

4. Cookies

We use cookies and similar tools to keep your cart and login working, remember preferences, measure traffic and, if enabled, support advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work.

You can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy. You can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the link in every message, and we’ll honor opt-outs within 10 business days. Depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado, Oregon, Virginia or other states with privacy laws), you may also have the right to limit certain uses, opt out of targeted advertising, and appeal a refusal. We won’t treat you worse for using these rights. To make a request, email [email protected]. We may need to confirm it’s you first, and we’ll reply within 45 days.

7. Marketing email

Every marketing email includes our postal address and an unsubscribe link. Order and service messages may still be sent after you unsubscribe.

8. Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including secure checkout through Stripe and PayPal and access limits for people who maintain the site. No online service is perfectly secure, so we can’t promise absolute security.

9. Children

This site is not meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

10. Other sites and international visitors

We link to other sites, such as Amazon and social media, which have their own privacy policies. We operate from the United States, and information you give us is processed here.

We’ll post any changes here with a new date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll tell you by email or a notice on the site.
